PERSONALITY Shinjiro tends to hold himself apart from others, coming off as a gruff, grumpy bastard who doesn't have time for anyone's shit. He's more than a little antisocial, and doesn't even associate with the other so-called punks in the areas he spends most of his time. He's very much a loner, preferring to rely on himself instead of leaning on others. He's also very stubborn in his point of view, and won't change his mind for anyone or anything once he's made up his mind about what path he wants to take. Guilt and self-control are primary factors in his life. It's the guilt of killing an innocent person that fuels most of his stubbornness, his steadfast need to remain in control of himself and his actions at all times. It's his guilt that leads him to being so protective of people, and it's his guilt that leads to him making decisions and reacting to things when he would otherwise remain steadfast and stubborn in his initial course of avoidance. He's a good person, but he can't see it for the mistakes he's made. But he doesn't talk about them... it isn't until Ken (the son of the woman he accidentally killed) shows up that he acknowledges his own guilt and steps up to try and own up to it. Until that point, he was trying to run from his past as much as he could. Shinjiro does have a gentler side that he hides underneath all the grump and stubbornness. He has a soft spot for cute things and for people who need protecting. He cares very deeply for the people he actually does let seep into his heart, and will quietly worry more about them than he ever does about himself. He's very awkward and roundabout in showing how he cares— asking the leader if Akihiko is taking good care of himself, cooking for the team, etc. He has difficulty expressing his feelings, and is even a little afraid to— knowing that he's dying doesn't exactly want to make him form closer bonds with people who will just miss him when he's gone.

ABOUT Shinjiro is an 18-year-old orphan who grew up alongside his best friend, Akihiko. After a fire burned down their orphanage and killed Akihiko's sister, the two vowed to become stronger. When a girl in their year, Mitsuru, introduced Akihiko to the power of Persona, Shinjiro followed close behind. Together, the three banded together to fight against the Shadows threatening mankind.... until Shinjiro abruptly walked away from it all. These days, he's better known as a delinquent who spends most of his time hanging out in the alley behind the Port Island Station, ditching school. Though technically a senior in Gekkoukan High School, he hasn't attended in two years.... ever since the fateful night he lost control of his Persona powers and accidentally killed a woman. Shinjiro can only use it for as long as he can hold his breath, but it's a way to slip between moments. It may make him seem faster than he's actually moving, but it's really just a matter of (other people's) perception. Persona: Castor Shinjiro has the ability to summon a... soul-monster from his psyche known as a Persona. A Persona is a physical manifestation of a person's personality, referred to as a "mask" for an individual to use to face hardship. A Persona can grant its user special skills and abilities. Castor is Shinjiro's Persona, which appears as a large knight with a blade stuck in his chest, riding astride a dark unicorn and carrying a lance. It can be noted that although Shinjiro has the ability to summon Castor, he's not entirely proficient in controlling him. Castor is associated with the Heirophant arcana. The easiest way to summon Castor is with an Evoker, which basically looks like a gun. Shinjiro can summon Castor without an Evoker, but it's usually not on purpose, which means he doesn't have control over him. Koromaru: A dog and fellow member of SEES, Koromaru is a loyal and brave dog with his own power of Persona. Though he can't talk and only has the same communication skills as any dog, Koromaru is still a valuable party member and friend. His Persona is Cerberus, and though his use of it is limited here, he can still come in handy in a pinch. Cerberus' Abilities: • Agidyne (Deals heavy Fire damage to one foe..)
