Visiting Akihiko at the hospital, meeting the leader of SEES. (2009-05-01)
It's the first day of May. Akihiko had asked you to swing by the hospital to ask you some questions— mostly about some Apathy Syndrome victims, though he'd also tried to give his usual pitch about re-joining SEES. He never gave up, and it had long ago started to annoy you. But the question had become a ritual for the two of you— in between semi-related conversations, he'd ask and you'd refuse. The both of you knew how this would turn out every time, and yet Aki still persisted. He was so damned stubborn.
There's a sound, and you look up from your thoughts. A trio of second-years stare up owlishly at you from the entrance to the room. Two brunette girls and a boy with a goatee and a baseball cap— you'd put money on them being the newest SEES recruits. From the conversations Aki's had with you, the girl with the pink cardigan is probably Yukari, Goatee is probably Junpei, which would make the other girl Minako— their new leader.
You stare at the trio silently as they trio fidgets where they're standing. Junpei clears his throat nervously before he finally speaks up.
"Umm... Is.... Akihiko-senpai...? ...in this room? By any chance?"
You continue to say nothing. Obviously Aki wasn't in here, but it's clear that none of them knew what else to say. Fortunately, before you had to speak up, Akihiko swept back into the room. He looks over at you briefly, then turns to the trio.
"What are all of you guys doing here?" Akihiko asks, raising an eyebrow.
"I came along with them," probably-Minako piped up cheerfully.
Akihiko shook his head. "I'm just here for a checkup."
You felt suddenly, intensely out-of-place in this meeting. These weren't your teammates— they weren't your concern. You turn to address Akihiko. "Is that it, Aki?"
Akihiko nods slightly. "Yeah, thanks."
"Tch.... I don't have time for this shit." As you walk out, you stop in front of probably-Minako. "You..."
The girl stares up at you. Unlike the other two, she doesn't look the least bit intimdated. The words you wanted to say die on your lips. Not your teammates. "Never mind..."
You leave the room, and the world of Shadows and Persona behind you.
Rescuing Yukari, Junpei, and the leader from thugs. (2009-06-06)
It's your usual spot, late at night— long past when good kids ought to be at home, studying or preparing for bed. But you're not a good kid, and you spend most of your nights here when you aren't trying to sleep in one of the other alleys. There's several of the usual punks around, chatting and laughing in a tone that never failed to grate on your nerves. But you never talked to them, and they never talked to you either. It was a tacit agreement that you left each other alone.
There's a commotion all of a sudden, and you look up from where you're sitting. That trio from Aki's hospital room last month— they're standing there, in their school uniforms no less. This time, it's the cardigan girl— Yukari— that's the bravest of the trio, with Junpei cowering nearby and Minako looking around, eyes bright with curiousity.
One of the punks sneered at the trio. "...The hell?"
His friend elbowed him. "Check out those rags.... They're from Gekkou High."
"Oh man...." Junpei said, his voice trembling. "This is worse than I thought...."
The first punk swept an intimidating glare at the trio. "Hey, you. I think you're in the wrong place."
Jupnei heard the threat implicit in the punk's voice and blanched. "Uh.... Well, I..."
"You don't belong here.... Get it?" The punk drew up his full height, looming intimidatingly. "Beat it, Goatee..."
"G-goatee?" Junpei tripped over his words, eyes darting around nervously. "Oh, y-you mean me..."
"We don't need your permission to be here," Yukari declared, some streak of stupidty clearly running strong. She's gonna get all three of them hurt if she isn't careful, and clearly Junpei agrees if his frantic hissing is any clue.
"H-hey! Are you nuts?! Take a look around you!"
Yukari waved a hand dismissively. "I'm not blind, ya know. come on, don't be intimidated by these scum!"
The punk looked at her incredulously. "What was that?"
One of the tougher-looking girls sneered. "She just called us 'scum.' We'll post some pictures that will make her daddy cry! She'll wish she was never born!"
Her friends all laugh at that. "Hahahahaha! Oh, that's so clever!"
No, it wasn't.
Yukari grimaces, glaring at the girls. "These guys are the worst..."
The punk turns the full force of his glare at Yukari. "You oughta learn to shut that trap of yours." His gaze shifts back to Junpei. "Man, I feel sorry for you, Goatee. This bitch is a pain in the ass... huh!!"
The punk gives Junpei a hard punch to the gut, and Junpei collapses with a grunt. "Ugh!"
Yukari gasps in alarm. "Junpei...!"
Several of the other punks walk in closer on the trio. You stand up at last, approaching the group.
"That's enough."
Everyone turns at the sound of your voice. Some of the punks look startled— none of them had ever heard you so much as say a word in the years you've been hanging around this spot.
"They didn't know what they were getting into," you continue. "I'll make sure they leave. Alright?"
The punk turns his sneer on you. "Who do you think you are, dumbass? You want some too!?"
You sigh. "Do I have a choice?"
The punk looks enraged a tthat. "That's it, you're goin' down!!"
The punk charges at you, fist at the ready. You easily dodge and pull your headback, then reel it in for a headbutt that knocks the guy on his ass.
The punk gasps from his spot on the ground. "Shit... You just crossed the line! You think you're going home alive!?"
You haven't had a home in years, and you weren't intimidated by this morons. Your stare stays level. "...Wanna give it a try?"
The punk winces at those words. He knows the same thing you do— he won't win this fight. "Uh... S-screw this..."
The girls giggle. "Hahahahaha! What a loser!"
The punk's buddy glares at you as he helps his friend up. "Damn you, Shinjiro... That's right... You're from Gekkou High too, aren't ya!?"
You're almost surprised he remembers that. Not many people realize you're still technically enrolled.
"You better grow eyes in the back of your head!"
And with that clever parting shot, the punks run away while their lady friends trail behind, laughing all along the way. You turn to look at Aki's trio of idiots. Junpei looks at you with no small amount of relief in his eyes.
"Oh man, senpai, that was awesome!"
Senpai? Now there's a word that fits you poorly at best. "Hey, I remember you... You clowns were in Aki's room at the hospital." You give the second-years the most impressive glower you can pull off. "You idiots! Get outta here. This place isn't for you."
"Wait!" Yukari cried out, not the least bit cowed by your glare. "We came here for a reason!"
Wait a minute. You have a sinking feeling.... "Did Aki tell you to come up here?"
"That's right!" Minako chirped.
You were going to have to kick Aki's ass later. "Stupid move... What do you want to know? About the ghost story?"
"Um, yeah...." The surprise was evident on Yukari's face. "How'd you know?"
"It's a rumour," you reply. "Those girls who wound up in the hospital were here talkin' shit every night... about all the things they'd done to some girl named Fuuka."
"Fuuka....?" Junpei asked. "You mean Fuuka Yamagishi, from 2-E? They were picking on her?"
"That's why people are saying it's Fuuka's spirit that did it," you confirm.
"Fuuka's spirit...?" There's growing horror on Yukari's face. "Wait, what do you mean by that!?"
"You guys didn't know?" Seriously? How'd they even manage to get this far....? "That Fuuka girl might be dead. She hasn't been home in over a week."
"Are you serious!?" Junpei cried out. "I thought she was out sick... But she's missing!?"
"So much for the ghost story," Yukari sighs. "Mr. Ekoda is the homeroom teacher for 2-E, right? Does he know about this...?"
You're lost in thought for a moment. "I get it, Aki... Still trying to make up for the past. It's you who can't let go..."
Yukari gives you an inquisitve look, but there's no chance in hell you're giving three strangers that much information, Aki's friends or not.
"Nothing... That's all I know. ...Satisfied?"
"Thank you very much," Minako said, giving you a warm look.
"...I didn't do nothing," you say gruffly to hide your embarrassment.
"Um, thank you very much," Yukari said softly. "You even gave us a hint... ...You're very kind."
"Huh?" You can't hide the shock in your voice, and Yukari looks flustered.
"I, um... Never mind."
"Tch..." The sound comes out of you almost involuntarily. "Don't come here again."
Akihiko joins Shinjiro for ramen, fails to convince him to rejoin SEES. (2009-06-23)
Server: "Hi, how are you today? Just one?"
[ The customer that came in sat next to a certain young man. ]
Akihiko: "I'll have what he's having.
Shinjiro: [ grunt ]
Server: "Coming right up! One house special!"
Akihiko: "...How can you eat the same thing all the time without getting sick of it?"
Shinjiro: "Shut up. You always eat that protein shit."
Akihiko: "Hmph."
Server: "Here you go, one house special! Be careful, it's hot!
Akihiko: "...Yow, he wasn't kidding. ...You still haven't made up your mind?"
Shinjiro: "...Is that what this is about?"
Akihiko: "We've got four new members. Things have changed quite a bit since you left. We're more aggressive now."
Shinjiro: "I'm not interested."
Akihiko: "Think about it, Shinji. Don't let your power go to waste."
Shinjiro: "My power ain't worth shit."
Akihiko: "Shinji!"
Shinjiro: "I made up my mind a long time ago. I ain't goin' back."
Akihiko: "You have to let the past go. What's done is done. It's time you moved on."
Shinjiro: "Hmph... You should talk."
Akihiko: "What?!"
Shinjiro: "Face it... You're no different than me."
[ Shinjiro gets up and leaves. ]
Akihiko: "Ah... Hey! Shinji!"
Akihiko reminisces with Shinjiro about the past. (2009-07-12)
Akihiko: "Nothing to do as usual, huh?"
Shinjiro: "Hmph... Why're you here? If you came here to try and convince me, then forget it."
Akihiko: "...It's nothing like that. I just wanted to see how you were doing."
Shinjiro: "Huh?"
Akihiko: "We've known each other for a long time... It's been almost 14 years since we met at the orphanage... You, me and Miki... We used to run around here until the sun went down. Back then, it seemed like we had all the time in the world."
Shinjiro: "Heh... You haven't changed one bit. If you wanna get all sappy, go do it with your other friends."
Akihiko: "...What was that!?"
Shinjiro: "It's rare for you to think about the past. Usually, you just charge ahead like a damn fool. So obviously, there's something on your mind."
Akihiko: "...... I do reminisce sometimes... But, what's the point? ...... ...Anyway, we finally know how to get rid of Tartarus and the Dark Hour."
Shinjiro: "No shit?"
Akihiko: "Yeah... To be honest, all I've been thinking about lately is getting stronger. But yesterday, someone made me question my reason for fighting..."
Shinjiro: "Your reason for fighting, huh... That's different for every person. But, if you don't have a good one, you can always quit... ...like I did."
Akihiko: "...I'm not like you. ...Man I can't believe I'm the one getting lectured here."
Shinjiro: "......"
Akihiko: "Well, see ya around."
[ Akihiko leaves the alley. ]
Shinjiro: "Tch... You haven't changed at all..."

[ The punks at the hangout are whooping it up as usual... Shinjiro is sitting by himself, away from the group... ]
Shinjiro: "Ungh..." [ gasp ] [ gasp ]
[ Three dark figures approach Shinjiro... ]
Takaya: "You seem to be in great pain."
Shinjiro: "You guys..."
Punk: "Oh shit, it's them..."
Tough Chick: "You mean those three? Wow, they're freaky!"
Punk: "Shut up! Let's go!"
[ The punks left the hangout... ]
Chidori: "......"
Takaya: "Why do they always run and hide when I approach? They're like back alley rats."
Shinjiro: "...Beats me."
Takaya: "Jin... Give him the capsules."
Jin: "......" [ Jin handed Shinjiro something... ]
Shinjiro: "...Thanks. I'll pay you the same as—"
Jin: "Hold up."
Takaya: "This time, information will suffice. Your acquaintances have been busy lately. I'm referring to their activities on nights when the moon is full. They've spent a great deal of time in the tower as well. Why did they take this burden upon themselves?"
Shinjiro: "......"
Takaya: "You do know, don't you? ...But, you don't wish to say? Is it because they are your friends?"
Shinjiro: "No! I've got nothing to do with them."
Takaya: "Then, tell us. Wouldn't you agree these pills are more important than a bunch of strangers?"
Shinjiro: "Tch... I don't know the details, but... Supposedly, if you destroy all those creatures... ...then the tower will disappear, and with it, the Dark Hour."
Takaya: "You mean... they intend to eliminate the Dark Hour. Why would they do such a thing!? With the power they have..."
Shinjiro: "What?"
Takaya: "They wish to destroy the Tower of Demise as well!?"
Shinjiro: "Tower of Demise...? ...Who wouldn't wanna take out that damn tower?"
Chidori: "......"
Jin: "Easy, Takaya..."
Takaya: "...Yes, yes."
[ The three left... ]
Shinjiro: "Hmph... I can't go back... Not after what happened."
Strega gives Shinjiro his drugs, notes Aigis has joined SEES. (2009-07-25)
Takaya: "Good evening. I'm glad to see that you're well."
Shinjiro: "......"
Jin: "Here's the pills."
Shinjiro: "......"
Takaya: "Incidentally, I see that they've again added a new ally to their ranks. ...Well, I suppose it's more of a pet than an ally."
Shinjiro: "Makes no difference to me."
Chidori: "......"
Takaya: "It seems that what you told us before about their intentions was true. How lamentable... Now, we have no choice but to intervene."
Shinjiro: "...!"
Takaya: "It is up to each individual how he will use the strength granted him... But, to erase the Dark Hour would be denying the very power they possess. We cannot tolerate that."
Shinjiro: "Do whatever you want..."
Jin: "Hold it. What're ya gonna do? I know they asked you to come back."
Shinjiro: "You're startin' to piss me off."
Jin: "They're goin' down, ya hear me? And if you're on their side, then you're going down too."
Shinjiro: "Like I said before... It doesn't concern me."
Festival! Fixing the leader's geta, sending a message to Aki to eat his veggies. (2009-08-16)
Yukari: “Oh?”
Mitsuru: “Aragaki...!”
Shinjiro: “Yo... Didn’t think I’d see you here.”
Fuuka: “Eh...? … Could you be the rumoured...?”
Shinjiro: “‘Rumoured’?”
Fuuka: “I-- I’m sorry!”
Yukari: “We were just talking about how you saved us in that alley in Port Island before!”
Aigis: “As well as your brilliant skills.”
Shinjiro: “... Th, that so...?”
Minako: “Thank you very much for that time!”
Mitsuru: “It seems you’ve helped a number of other students as well. You have my thanks.”
Shinjiro: “They were making a ruckus right in front of me, so I just drove ‘em out ‘cause they annoyed me, that’s all. Make sure they don’t show up there again.”
Mitsuru: “Got it. I’ll be sure to bring it up in the next student council meeting. … However, this is rather unusual. Did you come to visit the festival after all?”
Shinjiro: “Nah... I was just passing by and I heard a loud ‘hyaa’, and suddenly, this geta came flying at my face.”
[ Shinjiro presents a geta. ]
Yukari: “Ah...! That geta!”
Minako: “It’s mine!”
Shinjiro: “... You again? You do seem like the type who’d shoot off a geta, though.”
Minako: “It’s as you seem to have expected...”
Shinjiro: “Who said anything about expecting it? What, were you trying to make a forecast or something?”
Minako: “That’s not it! … The strap snapped, so...”
Shinjiro: “Snapped? … Ah, you’re right. How the hell did you pull this off? Even the metallic parts are twisted.”
Aigis: “I attempted to lengthen it, and when I pulled---”
Fuuka: [ whispering ] “Aigis!! Shh!”
Shinjiro: “... Tch, can’t be helped.”
[ Shinjiro tears something. ]
Yukari: “Ahh-- Are you okay with doing that to your handkerchief?”
Shinjiro: “It’s pretty much a rag at this point anyway.”
[ Shinjiro works swiftly, tying the handkerchief and the geta tightly together. ]
Mitsuru: “Hou... You’re a pretty enthusiastic worker, aren’t you?”
Fuuka: “I see...! By tying it like that, it won’t come apart from the inside!”
Shinjiro: “That’s how it’s designed. Here, try it out.”
Minako: “Ah--- Sure!”
[ Minako puts on the geta. ]
Shinjiro: “It’s not coming loose, is it?”
Minako: “No, it’s completely fine!”
Yukari: “Amazing, it’s completely fixed!”
Shinjiro: “It’ll hold until you get back home, at least.”
Minako: “Thank you very much!”
Aigis: “Another technique of a pro.”
Mitsuru: “It’s almost reminiscent of Sugata Sanshiro...”
Aigis: “The street fighter, correct?”
Yukari: “... Who’d even know about trivia like that?”
Shinjiro: “... If that’s it, then I’m going.”
Mitsuru: [ chuckles ]
Shinjiro: “... What is it?”
Mitsuru: “... No. You were worried, weren’t you? A loud scream and a geta flying down the stone steps...”
Shinjiro: “I was just wondering what dumbass was making all the ruckus.”
Yukari: “You really are a kind person after all!”
Shinjiro: “Don’t be an idiot.”
Mitsuru: “Thanks.”
Minako: “Thank you very much!”
Shinjiro: “... You don’t have to say it so much.”
Fuuka: “--Ah, um... Are you going to leave without seeing the festival? You came all this way, after all...”
Shinjiro: “Can’t say I’m too interested in festivals. I just came here to look for someone is all. With all the people here, I wasn’t sure if he was able to get home properly...”
Minako: “We can help you look for him! Is it a person?”
Shinjiro: “Nah, it’s a dog. It’s got nothing to do with you guys. … See ya around. You should be heading back soon too.”
Aigis: “There is no need for concern. I have activated my night vision mode; my field of vision is satisfactory.”
Shinjiro: “... Huh?”
Fuuka: “Ah, well...! She means she has good night vision!”
Shinjiro: “... That’s not what I meant. … Tch, you don’t have a sense of danger at all, do you...”
Mitsuru: [ chuckles ] “It seems you have your share of troubles as well.”
Shinjiro: “... Hmph. Might as well ask while I’m here. Tell me straight, is Aki eating right?”
Mitsuru: “Aa. As expected of an athlete, he’s eating plenty of meat. If I recall right... He likes to eat at a restaurant called ‘Umiushi’.”
Shinjiro: [... sigh ] “... Forget it. It’s my fault for asking you.”
Mitsuru: “Any messages you’d like for me to pass on to Akihiko?”
Shinjiro: “‘Eat your goddamn vegetables.’”
Mitsuru: [ laughs ] “... That really is just like you.”
Shinjiro: “Shaddap. See ya.”
[ Shinjiro leaves. ]
Akihiko fails to convince Shinjiro to rejoin, mentions Koromaru and Ken's mom's death. (2009-08-24)
Akihiko: "I'm sorry, but I won't take no for an answer."
Shinjiro: "Well the answer's still the same: I'm not coming back."
Akihiko: "You know, another Persona-user joined us... and he's not human."
Shinjiro: "...What?"
Akihiko: "It's a dog. He lost his master six months ago because of the Shadows. He's incredibly loyal... Up 'til now, he's been guarding the spot where his master was killed... ...despite the bad memories."
Shinjiro: "......"
Akihiko: "We saw someone die right before our eyes, too... But it's been two years since then..."
Shinjiro: "......"
Akihiko: "How long do you plan to beat yourself up over it? You're always at that spot behind the station, even though you don't hang out with the crowd there."
Shinjiro: "It doesn't matter. It was my fault, and it can't be erased. What difference does it make if I comes to term with it? It won't change anything. This isn't the same as what happened to Miki."
Akihiko: "Shinji..."
Shinjiro: "That's enough, already. I just want to forget it ever happened."
[ Shinjiro walks away. ]
Akihiko tells Shinjiro that Ken joined SEES. Shinjiro rejoins. (2009-09-02)
[ Minako and Akihiko approach Shinjiro. ]
Shinjiro: "You're getting on my nerves!"
Akihiko: "The situation has changed. Sorry, but this time, I'm not asking."
Shinjiro: "What?"
Akihiko: "This belongs to you."[ Akihiko thrust the suitcase he was holding out to Shinjiro. ]
Shinjiro: "......"
Akihiko: "We have a new enemy. They're Persona-users, like us."
Shinjiro: "...... Yeah, so what?"
Akihiko: "There's more. Ken Amada has joined our team."
Shinjiro: "......!? What the hell are you talking about!?"
Akihiko: "He has the potential, and Ikutsuki-san has okayed it. He's now a Persona-user."
Shinjiro: "You've gotta be kidding me. ...... Let me ask you one thing... Was it his decision to join SEES?"
Akihiko: "Yeah. He volunteered."
Shinjiro: "...I see. ......Then, count me in. So, you're the one leading the operations now, huh?"
[ Shinjiro turns to Minako and looked her in the eyes. ]
Shinjiro: "If you don't mind me asking, what exactly are you fighting for?"
Minako: "For my own sake."
Shinjiro: "Is that so? Well, you do your thing; I'll do mine." [ He turns to face Akihiko again. ] "Is my room still vacant?"
Akihiko: "Yeah."
Shinjiro: "Sheesh... Another girl, first Mitsuru and now her..."
Akihiko: "So what? She might be a girl, but she's one hell of a—"
Shinjiro: "That ain't my point, numbskull. I'm saying you gotta keep an eye out for her. Honestly..."
Senpai Reunion (2009-09-02, Evening)
Shinjiro: "Tch. You're as hot-headed as always."
Shinjiro: "Well, you better not fall behind. I'm gonna take it easy for today, but starting tomorrow, call me whenever."
Mitsuru: "I truly am glad to have you back, Shinjiro. But, I can't help wondering what motivated you to pick up your Evoker once again... Something must have affected you profoundly. I won't ask you now, though."
Shinjiro: "I appreciate that. Maybe someday I'll be in the mood to tell you..."
Mitsuru: "......"
Episode Rain
Shinjiro: "What are you guys doing? Tone it down, everyone else is still asleep! There, dry yourself. You’ll catch a cold."
Akihiko: "Thanks, Shinji."
Shinjiro: "Koro, you too. C’mere."
Koromaru: [ He barks. ]
Shinjiro: "You’re drenched to the core. You flooded the floor, too."
Koromaru: [ He whines. ]
Akihiko: "The rain started without a sign."
Shinjiro: "The forecast stated last night that rain can start anytime."
Akihiko: "Did it…?"
Shinjiro: "Geez… You’re good now."
Koromaru: [ He barks. ]
Akihiko: "You’re unusually up early."
Shinjiro: "It’s your fault.
Akihiko: "My fault?"
Shinjiro: "You kicked the vending machine on the second floor this morning."
Akihiko: "I did what? ... Ah, the Mad Bull got stuck in the dispenser so I tapped the vending machine."
Shinjiro: "It wasn’t 'a tap', that horrible banging sound woke me!"
Akihiko: "Really? Your room is right by, so it sounded especially loud to you."
Shinjiro: "If you know that much, then be more considerate. Listen, never do that again."
Akihiko: "…my bad."
[ Thunder crashes. ]
Akihiko: "The storm’s headed closing in."
Koromaru: [ He whines. ]
Shinjiro: "What’s wrong? You scared?"
Akihiko: "Man up, Koromaru."
Koromaru: [ He whines, a little more sadly and high-pitched. ]
Shinjiro: "It’s fine Koro, don’t worry. Aki, don’t sound like you’re any better. You used to be just as scared, hiding under the blanket with Miki. This idiot honestly believed that lightning will come take his navel."
(In the Japanese mythology, the thunder god Raijin is credited for devouring abdomen of children. During thunderstorms parents often tell their children to hide their belly so it won’t be stolen.)
Koromaru: [ He barks twice. ]
Akihiko: "Since when!? I’m not afraid of lightning! I was just going along with Miki!"
Shinjiro: "She said the same thing. She was by Onii-chan’s side so he won’t be scared."
Akihiko: "That Miki… Shinji, you, which one of us do you believe, me or Miki?"
Shinjiro: "Of course Miki! I remember watching you cover your belly, teary-eyed."
Akihiko: "Wha-? They are not!"
Shinjiro: "They’re teary now too."
Akihiko: "I got water in my eyes from the rain!"
Shinjiro: "Ooh sure."
Akihiko: "You’re not the one to talk either."
Shinjiro: "Explain yourself."
Akihiko: "Every time it thundered, your tension was higher than usual. You were posing to hide your fear."
Shinjiro: "If I acted scared, you guys would’ve been afraid even more."
Akihiko: "That’s dirty Shinji, you’re blaming us now!?"
Shinjiro: "This is absurd…. I was a child too, so I was scared of the lightning flashing, end of story."
Akihiko: "When you admit like that, I look dumb.

Akihiko: "I don’t have time; I should be heading to school."
Shinjiro: "Take a shower at least."
Akihiko: "I should…" [ He sniffs himself. ] "I’m gonna get change." [ He pauses. ] "We’re not done with this conversation."
Shinjiro: "You’re persistent."
Akihiko: "You’re the one trapped by the past. Before telling others to forget, move on yourself first."
[ Shinjiro makes an aggravated sound. ]
Akihiko: "Wait here, Shinji."
Shinjiro: "…Tch. Ah, dammit! What a pain in the ass. Let’s go out while Aki’s not around, Koro?"
Koromaru: [ He whines. ]
Shinjiro: "The thunder won’t get to you. It’s better than hearing Aki bicker, right?"
Koromaru: [ He whines some more. ]
Shinjiro: "I’ll get you something at the convenience store on the way back."

Shinjiro: "Even a cowardly dog like you prioritizes eating, huh. Alright then, let’s go."

Fuuka: "I don't know."
Shinjiro: "We have enough to go on..."
[ Ken came into the room. ]
Mitsuru: "Did you find Iori?"
Ken: "I can't find him anywhere. His backpack isn't here, so I don't think he's been home yet."
Yukari: "That idiot... He knows tonight's the night!"
Fuuka: "I don't sense him anywhere nearby... Should I take more time to look for him, just in case?"
Ikutsuki: "No, it's okay. You're all young; sometimes you just get in one of those moods. Anyway, we should focus on the task at hand."

Mitsuru: "We can't afford to waste any more time. Let's go."

Mitsuru: "Good job, Yamagishi. Alright. Once we're ready, we'll make our move!"
[ Inside Club Escapade, on the dance floor... ]
Fuuka: "That's the source! It's connected to all those cables... ...so be careful you don't get shocked!"
[ The team fights and defeats the Shadow. ]
Fuuka: "Congratulations, I no longer sense its presence. Oh, and also... I think I've found Junpei. He's back at the dorm, but something seems strange... The Chairman's there too, so he should be okay. But, let's hurry back just in case."
[ They head back to the dorm. The roof door opens]
Yukari: "Junpei!?"
Chidori: "Tch. They're back already!?"

[ Aigis restrained Chidori. ]
Fuuka: "I...I didn't sense her up until this very moment... This is my only power and yet..."
Ikutsuki: "If even Fuuka couldn't sense her, then she must have some sort of power to conceal her presence... I didn't have the slightest clue she was here..."
Mitsuru: "Are you a member of the group that goes by the name Strega? I have a number of questions for you."

Shinjiro: "I see... It'd be better if Aki ate here, too. That guy isn't getting a balanced intake of nutrients..." [ Shinjiro is sighing. ] "Oh, yeah... About Aki... In your opinion, do you think he's fighting well?"
Minako: "Yes, of course!"
Shinjiro: "I see. All right, then. You understand a lot more about fighting than me, after all. ...I'll leave it up to you." [ Shinjiro nods seriously. ] "Sorry. Junpei: "Chidori!"
Shinjiro: "Relax... her Persona just went berserk. It happens."
Mitsuru: "It... happens?"
Shinjiro: "Were you guys not watching at all? You could see for a second that her Persona was strangling her. They're not like us. They can't fully control their Personas. That's why they need to take suppressants... to keep their Personas from killing them..."
Mitsuru: "Suppressants...? ...You know about Strega?"
Shinjiro: "You'd be surprised what you can learn on the streets. I'll give the doc the right pills. ...The rest is up to you."
[ Shinjiro leaves the room. ]

Minako: "Let's do it again sometime!"
Shinjiro: "...If the opportunity comes up." [ Shinjiro laughs. ] "If you hadn't brought up the idea, I probably never would've done something like this. It was so simple, and all I had to do was do it..." [ Shinjiro mutters to himself. ] [ *cough cough* *sigh* ] Today really tired me out. I'm gonna go to bed. Junpei: “You weren’t quick enough, huh?”
Fuuka: “According to the news, a typhoon just hit. Supposedly, it’s the biggest one on record. It’s moving slowly, too, so it’ll be around for a while…”
Junpei: “Yeah, thanks to that, the school festival got canned. ...Well, setting all that stuff up is a pain, so I don’t mind. But it sucks that we’ll be stuck indoors… ...So, how are you gonna spend your break?”
Minako: “I have plans.”
Junpei: “Keeping busy, huh… What about you, Fuuka?”
Fuuka: “Me? The only thing I plan to do is go to the movies…”

Don't you... have more fun things to do?"
Minako: "It's fun being with you."

[ At Shinjiro's urging, Minako continues talking. She tells him about school, her friends, the clubs she's in, what she's seen on TV... Shinjiro just listens. ]
Shinjiro: "Sounds like you're enjoying your days. You look best when you laugh. ...... So don't cry, got it...?"
Minako: "What're you trying to say?"
Shinjiro: "...Just what I said." [ Shinjiro looks downwards. ] "I gotta make sure I don't leave anything behind... No doubts, no regrets... ......"

This isn't really to pay you back, but I want you to have this. I was hesitating about if I should give it to you or not." [ Shinjiro gives Minako a leather watch. ] "I thought it'd look good on you..."
Minako: "Why a watch, though?"
Shinjiro: "Because it... it keeps track of time. This is all I could think of." [ Shinjiro smiles wryly. He looks down at his feet for a long time. ] "...Look after Aki. ...You know he's an idiot. You remember the story about the first fight we ever had? It was because... I stole a doll from a toy store. Aki's sister couldn't make any friends. I stole it because I thought it'd make her happy. Aki found out about it, and he beat the crap outta me... and he was crying the whole time. Afterwards, we both went back to the store to return it... and to apologize for what I did. The toy store's owner smacked us both. ...He hasn't changed at all from back then. He's stupid, honest, proud, kind... and a crybaby. ...That's why someone needs to be by his side."

Shinjiro: "Yeah... I'll be counting on all of you." [ Shinjiro seems relieved. ] "I ain't worried at all, because I know you're with him. [ Shinjiro lets her go. ] "You get it, right? Go back to your room. If you don't go now, you're not gonna get another chance."
Minako: "I'm not going anywhere!"

Ken: "What does he mean...? You're going to die...? ...No matter what I do? That's not fair!! All this time! I've been waiting for this!!"

[ Takaya reared up to again kick Shinjiro in his wounds. ]

Ken: "...Yes. That's the only reason they let me join."

[ Takaya kicks Shinjiro again. ]
Shinjiro: "Agh!!"
Takaya: "...Quiet. You had your chance."
Ken: "It doesn't matter anymore... I'll never have my revenge. ...I have no reason to live..."
Takaya: "...I see. So you have achieved resolution. How enviable... Then, you shall be first. Rest peacefully..."
[ Takaya aimed the gun at Ken. ]

[ Takaya fires the gun and a body hits the ground. ]

[ Shinjiro stood in front of Ken, taking two bullets to the chest as a result... ]
